AccuGrain™ Technology The Beauty of Wood in Fiberglass Innovation

Then, with the graining technology, the final product undergoes multiple casting. This process, called random depth graining, combined with the multiple dies to produce different graining types, makes Therma-Tru fiberglass doors virtually indistinguishable from real wood doors. This gives you the beauty of a wood door with all the benefits of our fiberglass doors — doors that won’t split, crack or rot like real wood.

AccuGrainAccuGrain is a door-casting process that uses multiple dies to produce different graining types to cast the appearance of real wood into our fiberglass doors. At a high-level, the process starts with building a wood door using select pieces of wood that have the graining and wood characteristics we want to reproduce. We then enhance the wood door using proprietary technology to enhance the natural graining depth on the wood before casting.

Tru-Defense® Door System Your Best Defense Against Nature's Worst

Tru-Defense Door System maximizes the seal between the door and the frame to keep out the damaging effects of wind and rain, and increases energy efficiency.

The secret to the Tru-Defense Door System performance is a series of components designed and engineered to work together to perform better in all kinds of weather conditions.

Therma-Tru Doors Keep Moisture Out

Even the lightest sprinkling of rain can find its way through or around an entry door. That’s why Therma-Tru door systems are thoroughly tested for water infiltration. The door, frame, sill, weather stripping, hardware, and more are tested for water leakage during a simulated rainstorm.

Therma-Tru Doors Can Take the Heat

thermal testAs part of Therma-Tru’s rigorous product testing, doors are tested against extreme weather conditions. Severe temperatures can eventually lead to compromised performance, including air infiltration, cracking, swelling or warping. Therma-Tru's Advanced Technology Center uses high-powered heat lamps to measure the effects of extreme weather on our doors to ensure they can withstand the heat.
